What does empowerment mean?

Empowerment or self-empowerment is something that we have received from God. It means that we hold the reins of our lives in our own hands. Over time, we have let them out of our hands and they have often got "stuck" somewhere. When we start to get them back, we also start to walk powerfully through life.

Giving up power happens all over the world.

Very often we give power to other people, to states, to organisations, to society. This happens all the time and without us realising it. As children, we have learnt to "give away" power to our parents or carers - and in many cases we have simply not taken it back.

The church has also exercised power over us in recent millennia - and many people have given up their self-empowerment as a result.

The very fact that certain diseases are "inherited" is a form of power transfer.

This inner "pattern" of giving up power is one of the most important things that we as humanity still have to resolve before we can experience more freedom around the world. This is because we have given up our self-power so often that we no longer realise how deeply this is anchored in our subconscious and how much a lack of self-power restricts our lives.

Empowerment means taking life into your own hands!

If we keep handing over power to others, then we are not in control of our own lives and do not have all the strings in our own hands to make the best of our lives.

To empower yourself again, you basically "only" need to be aware of it. The more aware we are, the easier it is for us to recognise where we are not yet acting in our own power.

The following questions can help us to empower ourselves:

  • Am I myself?
  • Am I acting in my own power and responsibility?
  • Am I in my power?

Self-empowerment is not the same as selfishness.

Egoism means acting ruthlessly. Self-empowerment means taking your own power back into your own hands without having to act ruthlessly. These are two pairs of shoes, but they are connected in the subconscious of many people.

Only when we realise that we are much happier when we act in accordance with our 'pure heart' do we find it easy to take the step towards self-empowerment. Before that, we will always have a guilty conscience or feelings of guilt somewhere.

Basically, it's about realising that we don't harm anyone when we live our self-empowerment and, more importantly, that only then do we create the best for ourselves and the world!
